A young Muslim businessman in Orange County recently launched onelegacyradio, a 24-hour Muslim radio station in Irvine, Calif. I haven't listened to any of their programs yet, but judging from their schedule and program description online, the topics are quite engaging and very topical, including such issues as youth radicalization, drug use, and many other social problems. One of their live shows is called Objection, a daily talk show hosted by an activist and an attorney specializing in national security and civil rights. The show will identify and analyze the legal issues that affect the civil rights and liberties of Muslims today. You can listen to their two-part series on youth radicalization on their website. You can read a more detailed article about the station here. Onelegacyradio joins a new generation of Muslim media like Altmuslim, Emel, Azizah Magazine, Elan Magazine and many other outlets that were created after 9/11.
